It’s hard to find THE restaurant in the capital of gastronomy. You hesitate, you compare, you check, but sometimes nothing beats the advice of the locals.
At Lyon City Tour, we’re in love with our city because of its unique restaurants. And with our extensive experience of Lyon’s cuisine, we’re proud to be able to offer you our selection of the finest restaurants in Lyon!
1. The Lyonnais
A restaurant that has the courage to call itself Les Lyonnais deserves our full attention. Especially when it’s a bouchon and, what’s more, a recognized member of the official Bouchons Lyonnais label.
A veritable institution not far from Saint Jean Cathedral, Les Lyonnais is a fine family affair where the tradition of Lyonnais cuisine is shared from one generation to the next. A cuisine that has everything you need to leave with a smile on your face and a full stomach. At Les Lyonnais, you’ll find all the best elements of a good or very good bouchon lyonnais! Surely one of the only bouchons you’ll want to try in Vieux-Lyon.
2. Le Phenix
Lyon is a crossroads of cuisines, and some may be impressed by the generosity of our local restaurants.
No problem at all! The city offers an astonishing diversity of restaurants, and Le Phenix is an excellent example.
You’ll find in the dishes of this restaurant all the richness of products from the Lyon region. Using carefully selected seasonal produce, Le Phenix offers dishes of rare quality, which may even be genuine Lyonnais recipes! A seasonal menu, a sublime setting and an explosion of flavors: in short, a little nugget on the banks of the Saône. What more could you ask for?
3. Brasserie Georges
An institution among institutions, Brasserie Georges is one of Lyon’s legendary restaurants. A unique dining room, a period atmosphere and sumptuous dishes: this is the program that awaits you at Brasserie Georges.
On the menu, Lyon specialties of course (the Menu Confluence will satisfy you for a reasonable price) but you can also choose the house specialties. We’re thinking of the institution’s well-known sauerkraut, but we also recommend the tartare prepared in front of you. A feast for the eyes!
A little bonus if it’s your birthday, but we’ll let you discover for yourself what the brasserie has in store for you.
ATTENTION: No online booking possible, so we advise you to arrive early! Menu here to get ideas in line.
4. Le Bouchon des Cordeliers
We sometimes wonder what makes a Lyon bouchon such a success. Well, the Bouchon des Cordeliers answers that question with ease.
This institution has everything you’d expect from a good bouchon! As well as the warm, typical decor and setting, it’s the food that really comes into its own, as the dishes on offer live up to our expectations. We’re obviously thinking of the spit quenelle, perfectly prepared, but we’d also advise you to try the rest of the menu, with a special mention for the piece of Porcelet cooked in court-bouillon. We can’t wait!

5. Hard Rock Café Lyon
Well-known to tourists from all over the world for its souvenirs, Hard Rock Café is also a great place to eat in the city center. In Cordeliers (between Terreaux and Place Bellecour), the chain opened its doors a few years ago. Every city in Europe had its own Hard Rock Café – Lyon was the only one missing!
Immerse yourself in the Rock atmosphere of this venue steeped in history, with its mythical relics of the greatest bands! In addition to these rock relics, you’ll also find a unique decor with a wall of bottles at the bar. But of course, you can also count on the generous cuisine, with its varied and creamy burger recipes.
